Buck Wayne, If you have a 3-point hitch on your M, it is either after-market or home made. Saganaw and Worksaver both sell 3-point hitch for M. These hitches can be ordered with either two cylinders or one cylinder. The Worksaver that I have on a H has two 3" cylinders. I copied that one, using two 4" cylinders, to install onto my M. The amount of weight you can lift is a factor of the size of your cylinders X pump. (I am assuming you are using the factory belly pump). My M with the 4" cylinders will lift much, much more than the H with the 3" cylinders will lift. Both my H and M will lift a 1200 lb bale. Your problem will be keeping the front of the tractor on the ground. Front wheel weights and even more weight will be necessary; but, don't get too carried away with weights...tractors have been broken in half by over doing it. (Although usually with a front end loader rather than rear lift). Also be prepared to steer by using your brakes. If your hitch only has one cylinder you may have to add another cylinder onto your hitch. Just install it on the opposite side from your existing cylinder. I think the lift capacity is determined by some mathematical factor of pump X cylinder(s). (The bigger the cylinder the more you can lift). Somebody here will know. I like Binder Books for manuals.

Up to about 1958 the dairy cows were fed hay with some turnips and after that grass silage was the main winter feed. That same year was the last in which flax was grown on the farm. Flax provided the fibre which w
