Lewis: Since we communicated last week, I had to take my 130 starter to a rebuilder. Seems there is a short in it somewhere. I had been expecting trouble from my starter. Last spring, I installed a new push button switch from CaseIH. About a month after I installed it, I started the tractor, moved it 10', shut it off and headed for the house. Remembering a wrench I wanted from the tool box, I went back to hear the battery boiling. The new starter switch was stuck down, just enough to put current to starter but not actually engage it. I had to replace the battery shortly after. Kind of wondered how much damage starter may have suffered. Well, I found out Mon. morning this week.
After 16 years my clutch starter drive is still in good condition. He advised me, clutch type is not the best description. In his world they are refered to as the old Bendix and new type starter drive, he thought they are both made by Bendix. He told me the new type are available just about everywhere today. When I bought these new type drives, they were only available at CaseIH. This rebuilder I took it to was rather surprised to learn I had these drives since 1992.
