Larry: It sounds as though you have some parts missing. Problem with these plows after 50 years, is much of the mounting hardware comes off, one piece at a time. Grandpa had a place he hung it all in the barn, then there was the odd part he had another use for. Grandpa passed away, and folks selling the estate missed some of those pieces.
Your best bet is find a parts diagram, then you can sort out what you have or don't have. Fabrication will be a possibility, as very likely what you have missing is steel flat bar, with a few holes drilled in it.
I don't know the model numbers for C and SC plows, however if they are like other IH implements there was an A, B, C, H and M version. There is an A-295 two bottom plow, diagnol cross members between plow beams. I think we can assume there is a C-295 two bottom plow. It's a start, go to CaseIH parts online, and look for C-295 plow, watch for any other C-xxx numbers.
If you happen to live in Canada, it could be a 212, difference is cross members between beams are perpendicular.
