its not adjustable per se. you will need to find out whats loose. take the hood and grille off the tractor, then start at the steering wheel and work dow,. check the u-joint by the gauges, see if its tight. then pull the cover off the top of the steering bolster and watch the worm and sector gear as you turn the wheel. more than likely there is where your slop will be. if the sector gear is a full circle gear (the gear connected to the bolster, not the steering wheel shaft) you can remove it and turn it 180 degrees. that will tighten the steering up some. other areas are the bearing at the end of the steering shaft( under the pipe plug cap at the top of the bolster) the bolster bushings could be worn, or the lower bolster bearing. if you need to rebuild the bolster, carter and gruenenwald sels the whole kit, bushings, bearings and seals for about 160 dollars.
