Well, before you go inside the steering, you want to make sure you tighten everything outside the steering. Start at the lug nuts, and work towards the center, and tighten everything on the rods, arms, and the shaft that goes into the box. Also make sure the steering wheel itself is tight. On my 1966 140, I went from one-third turn to just a few inches. You will be surprised how stuff that looks and feels tight, really isn't, and how a few slightly loose items multiply in their effect along the mechanical chain.
