OK To Tow Tractor On Its Own Wheels??

I have a question about towing a tractor. I got a fellow scheduled next week to deliver the tractor I just bought. His method of transport is to place the front wheels on a small dolly and then pull the tractor behind his pickup with the tractor's rear tires on the ground. I questioned the wisdom of doing it this way, but he said that as long as you don't go over 45mph it's ok and he "does it all the time". My concerns are possible damage to the transmission and the rear tires (the tires on this tractor are new). Can anyone shed any light here? I'm prepared to make other arrangements. The tractor in question is a '49 Farmall C. Thanks in advance for any input on this. -- Ken
