Thanks for the input. It is muddy right now. I tried it today and it did ball up some mud, but it was pulling up A LOT of debris. I feel it is going to have to be VERY dry to make it work without picking up a lot of dirt.
As for the spacing, I roughly designed this from someone else's design. They had 6.5" spacing, I have 6" on the first two rows and 7" on the rear (it also has teeth facing both ways). If I cut out half the teeth I feel I will miss a lot of trash.
This is experimental and I am sure it will require some "Tweeking" before it functions like I want. I already see that I hydraulic top link is in my future. I had problems getting it off the trailer, could not lift it high enough. I had to find a combination of uneven ground to allow me to back it off! I am going to convert this to a DOVETAIL one day, another topic.
As for the burning, I was planning to use my loader and the rear facing teeth to crowd the pile in to a degree. I could not see paying $80.00/HR for a dozer guy to burn the piles. I may call him again after I burn to do what I cannot. I think if I had a hydraulic top link I could lift it up and drag/scatter the remains then repile with the rake and FEL. I may be dreaming big, there are many stumps in the piles.
