I farm 160 acres (corn, soybeans) which I have been doing with an M for the past 30 years. However I have finally decided I need a little larger tractor (50-70 hp) with such things as Live Hydraulics and Live PTO and also 3 point hitch.
So how is the best way to go about getting a tractor like this? I am thinking some of the things I should do are:
Talk to local auctioneers and have them keep an eye out and let me know of any tractors
Check out farm sales in the local paper (I get the Midwest Messenger, if any out there are familiar with this paper).
Talk to local implement dealers
I have talked a couple of times to my local Case-IH dealer, and it has been kind of a disappointment. I cannot seem to get them to help me. It seems like unless you are coming in there to buy something that is at least $100,000 they don't want to have much to do with you!
