You should measure and do a visual inspection. The bottom end of the carrier should measure 2.858 to 2.875. There should be no flat spots in the roller area of the ramp and should be no scars or chips in the bottom end of the carrier. To see if it's working ok the ramp should turn clockwise and lock counter clockwise. Hope this helps. Good luck Kevin
