MoosieDog- Sweat it not! Saw off a plain 3/8" NC threaded bolt to proper length, below the hex head. Use a 3/8 NF die and cut that thread on the other end. Valve cover stud is a low tensile strength need item, so sweat it not! Doing this on other studs needs to be considered on an individual basis as to materials strength, but you're home free and easy on this one. Count your blessings, IHank
