In addition to Dukester's advice:
1. Don't tie up money in it such that you need to sell the tractor to survive. You'll be forced into selling the tractor and losing money.
2. Don't get testy with the lowballers. You'll get a reputation as a crazy jerk rather than a talented restorer of fine tractors.
Somebody is buying these tractors that are bringing crazy prices at auctions, like 10, 12 grand for an MTA, for example. There are people out there with more money than brains... er, I mean, a keen eye for quality and the willingness to pay for it.
