If your problem is that the butterfly valves in the intake manifold are open when they should be shut, that can be corrected by adjusting the length of the lever that goes to the arm that controls the butterfly valves. If your problem is that the carburetor fuel shutoff is off when it should be on, you may have the arm hooked up on the wrong side. You need to take the carburetor off and look at which position is on and off on the carb. Then move the linkage without the carb hooked up. You"ll probably find the problem. Your linkage could be far enough out of adjustment that someone hooked it up incorrectly last time it was taken apart. Good Luck!
