AV: That is not an original engine, thus you will never be able to date the tractor, using any info off the engine. Don't let yourself get hung up over that engine part number not being 1" high digits, not being an original tractor engine is the reason.
If you want to date that tractor your only option is casting date codes. Every major casting has one, and they are about 1/2" high digits giving day and month by number and year by letter and with what looks like a blade type, round head screw cast between each of day month and year. R is 1948, S is 1949, T and U both 1950, V was not used, W is 1951, X is 1952. You can go forward or backward from that.
