If it is a gear drive, probaly the cheaper universal fluids are fine. IF it is a Hydro, only use genuine Case-IH Hytran, keep it full, and keep it clean-change filter as recommended in manual. Heat, water, and dirt are the enemies of hydrostat transmissions and the factory Hy-tran works the best. I have a 656 Hydro, and it has been trouble free for a lot of years.
