James: Forget this Mr. business, I like Hugh.
I put a Woods 59 on my SA about 5 years ago. First thing that had to go was my fast hitch, didn't particularly like that. Then there is the fact I like to use my SA for cultivating and other tractoring. In spite of all that I have settled in to the fact, SA is a mower tractor that I can use to pull a trailer on very smooth ground.
You will not be very happy using 230 for mowing then removing mower for raking. When you put the mower back on it can take up to 2-3 hours getting that belt running true.
Here would be my suggestions, and yes there is more than one. 1. Convert the A to 12 volt, then find a little 12 volt winch that has raise, lower and with switch off a brake applied. I've never looked closely into this, however there must be such a winch.
2. Buy a 72", 3 point hitch mower and use it behind 230 with a 2 point to 3 point adaptor. My next door neighbor has such a mower he uses behind his 1020 Deere, 4 caster gauge wheels on the mower, thus enabling him to let mower float on gauge wheels.
There is another thing I don't like about belly mower on my SA. Tractor is too high around most of my ornamental trees. I have thought a 8N or Fergie would be much better. Then I've also thought I'd go with a 72" 3 point hitch mower, then buy a little rideon for around the trees. This has been some of my experiences, some good, some bad, trying to achive what might be perfect. I'm still undecided, thus I keep on mowing with SA.

My father, my sister, my uncle, my cousin and myself all climbed into my uncle's Toyota van. It was six thirty in the morning and we had a long day ahead. We traveled for six and a half hours to our destination - a little country town with a population of no more then one hundred and fifty people (57 of them being children under the age of thirteen). We arrived hoping to meet up with a man we knew had over one
