A mechanic friend of mine said you could replace some rear end bearings in the 15s with bearings from a 2+2 and make them pretty bullet proof, he had a 1566 of his own and it was intercooled and turned up so he probably had some experience. A 1586 they worked on they had to be overhauled anyway so they bought a 466 overhaul kit and traded cranks and made it a 466. This plus an inline pump made a lot of horse power. Also on my 1486 he didn't turn up the fuel any, but he changed what I think he called the droop screw in the pump which made the torque curve different. It made it a lot better when taking off again after throttling down for a ditch when discing. But you need to watch the pyrometer a little closer. Lee
