I am an ag teacher in Southern Pennsylvania. Last November, one of my 9th grade students was killed in an accident. Shortly before his death, he had talked with me a little about fixing up an old M that they have. I am very familiar with M's having three of my own, and was going to help him out. After he passed away, his father approached me, and was wondering if our FFA chapter could restore the tractor in his son's memory, and that he would pay for all of the needed parts. My students are very eager to do this, as am I. I know it needs a head gasket and some head work, and we'll have to pull the pan to see how the lower end is. I don't think that the family has a whole lot of money to put into this tractor, but at the same time I want to make sure we do it right. I also want to use it as a teaching tool for the rest of the students. I'd really like to overhaul the entire motor. The father doesn't know when it was ever overhauled, and he's had it for many years. It was parked three years ago when the head gasket blew. Can anyone give me any leads as to where I can find inexensive kits to work this motor over - gaskets, sleaves, pistons, bearings, etc. I don't want to get junk though! We may need some rearend seals too. I know that CT will be cheaper than CaseIH, but was wondering if anyone knows of any other places to check. Any help is greatly appreciated. E-mails would be great, as I've posted this message many places and don't want to forget to check them all! MIKE SHULTZ
