I assume you at talking about lining up the clutch plate so you can slide the drive shaft back into it when you rejoin the front and back parts of the tractor. I've done this several times on the A,C series tractors and I've always done it by eye ball and never had a problem. I recall though that the pilot bearing hole is even size, like 3/4 or 5/8 inch and a piece of steel rod the appropriate size will side in. The spline hole in the clutch plate is also even size, so if you have piece of rod and a bushing the appropriate size, then you have a clutch alignment tool that will work. Also if you can't find a bushing, just sticking the rod (or a cut off bolt in the pilot bearing will help you eyeball center the clutch plate as you install it.
