Back in the early 60's a lady from our church lost her husband. She had 5 kids and they were dairy farmers, heated with wood. Each fall our church all got together and had a wood cutting for her family. I remember 3 or 4 years of this. It was something I looked forward to each year. I was about 7 then and it all seemed like great fun to me.
I also helped with a similar cause 3 or 4 years ago for a local family where the husband had cancer.
