...Nathan... I have a 560 that we welded a flat plate on top of the pipe that comes out of the manifold. We then bored four holes in the plate so that a John Deere muffler (model A-60-etc style) would bolt to it. A 4" chrome pipe will slip over the JD muffler and fit nice and snug. It gives the illusion of a straight pipe, with out the noise. I used a hole saw and made the hole in the hood larger...if you didn't want to do this, you would need the plate above the hood. This tractor has run this way since the 1970's so the muffler/pipe did no harm to the tractor.
