What has broken on mine is called the sector shaft. I bounced off a rock with a load in my bucket and that was it. Front wheels flopping to and fro. Same thing happened to the previous owner. He had a rock in the bucket and went in a hole and she was done for. Seems to be the weak link in the system. I bought the tractor broke when I had determined I could repair the steering with a new assembly and now I've gone and done it myself.
Anywhoo... I emailed Roland Jackson and explained what was up and that I was considering his system for a fix. I made it clear I didn't want to have to repair the steering box also, told him the sector shaft was broke and he replied that I will not need to fix it. From that my understanding is that installation must somehow result in modification of the steering assembly to allow for a new steering wheel and the valve that drives the two cylinders. I'm supposing it must get tucked in under the sheet metal there. He's got a pic on the website of someone with a 300U and his setup so that says to me he can make it work. As soon as someone pays off a $2K bill to me I'll start a writeup thread with pics.
