If the main parts of the tractor are offset to the left, with a seat on the right, and rounded front sheetmetal and a teardrop shape to the fuel tank, and a front axle that is wide, but not centered, it is an A or super A.
It is almost certain to be 6 volt. If it has a generator.the generator will look like a 4" cylinder about 7 inches long. If it has an alternator (non stock) it will be larger in diameter, Made from aluminum, and not a cylinder. it will be 12 volt. If it has a battery in it, the 6v battery will have 3 fill holes on top for filling water. A 12 volt batery will have 6 fill holes for water.
Either way it will more than likely have a 6 volt starter (they work and survive on 12volts and are not changed) A problem that often happens with IH Farmall tractors is that the starter drive system jambs into the flywheel and stops working. THis is cured by replacing it with a newre design clutch type starter drive from CaseIH, or others that sell starter components. These starters can be rebuilt easily. Look to the left and select tractor photos to find your model. JimN
