PLEASE don't make up a tag number. It'd be mighty embarrassing for all concerned if you were to show up and find someone with the tractor that really did come off the line with that number, and you'd be throwing that innocent fellow's reputation into question along with your own for nothing more than your desire to have a tag.
If you want a tag for appearance's sake, by all means get one, but don't stamp your serial number with any more digits that you can verify from the records. If, for the month your motor's serial number came off the line and the month after, the first two or three digits of the chassis numbers were the same, stamp your tag with those two or three digits and stamp Xs in to follow.
I don't know you or anything about you, and will not and would not accuse you of bad motives just on the basis of your question, but I've seen enough inquiries on the subject to know that not everyone is playing straight with the availability of replacement tags.
Please don't make up a number. Get it as close as you honestly can on the front end, and fill it in with Xs.
