Wardner: I have 3 large hitch forks I cut out of 1-1/4" by 3" cold roll steel. Those cost me close to $100. each 20 years ago. The guy that cut these for me wouldn't do it with mild steel. Bear in mind one point fast hitch does have a side draft factor. He told me he had cut a couple for a guy with 140, from mild steel and he bent them side ways.
I have a 6'cultivator my own fabrication built with modern day s-tines. One of my fabricated forks are on this cultivator. It does take heavy shock if the cultivator strikes heavy going on one side and at 5.5 mph. I have not bent any of the cold roll forks. I forget the exact dollars but cold roll did add quite a bit to cost. Photo attached
