Buy I&T manual #25 first, a lot of info in it. Split in front of the 3 triangle bolts to reveal the flywheel and clutch. 2nd split is to remove the TA housing just in front of the clutch/brake pedals and footrests. (Rather than have it rebuilt, several places sell rebuilt units for around $500). I have split my 460 HU more than once by detaching the engine from the rear and rolling it away with an engine hoist. A little tricky as it can be nose heavy. With an engine hoist the front rocks on the front wheels, you want the flywheel and attached clutch to clear the opening so that you do not damage the clutch pressure plate as it slides, more important as the new one slides in. It may be better to block the front and roll the rear away but I do not have splitting stands, yet. You have to disconnect the front end u-shaped arm that attaches to the front axle. Remove all wires, govenor linkage, carb choke cable, temperature gauge line, oil pressure gage line, air cleaner, gas tank, steering arms, starter, anything that is connected to front and back. I have not removed the TA housing, may have to shortly. You may have to block the front and rear both of the remaining chassis -- I am not sure which way that part tilts when the TA housing is removed. Block under the drawbar and the front also. If you do that, remove the steering gear and steering wheel as a unit. The hydraulic remote blocks have to come off before you can remove the cover off the TA housing. Use the engine hoist for that after securing the front end, or you can remove it before the first split. I work alone, would be a lot easier it two people did it. Everything is very heavy, stay out of the way! You will learn as you go, just don't drop anything and don't ever get in a hurry, tractors are hard to lift off people.
