Don't quote me on this but I'm thinking you'll feel the difference if you miss.
To ensure no gear-mangling ensues if you do happen to miss, simply be careful when you go to move the tractor. If driving, let the clutch out slow in a higher gear with the tractor idling and if the tractor dies on you, it's stuck in two.
