i'm 18, iv'e been on farmalls since i was born. i have 3 my self. my farmall A witch i just got for $500. i inharited my grandfathers 1944 H a few months back and it is the most reliable tractor i have starts with one crank everytime (i have to crank it because the battery is shot and i just don't feel like replacing it, plus i kind of like having to crank start it).and a few years ago i bought a complete 1936 F-12 for $200, but i'm waiting to restore it until can put the time and money into it it deserves. when i was little my grandpa took a john deere L and put a chevette engine on. i like these old tractors they run forever as long as you take care of them. sometime soon i'll post a link with pics of some of my tractors on it.

Today's Featured Article - Oil Bath Air Filters - by Chris Pratt. Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
