There were at least two types of those IH umbrellas. Some had the pipe going straight up through the middle, like a typical umbrella shape. Some supported the umbrella from the top.
The one we had on the M had a straight pipe and clamped to the steering support on the left side behind the steering wheel, and the bottom of it rested on the plaform next to the gearshift. The one for our H had a curve in the pipe and supported the umbrella from the top. it mounted in a bracket fastened to the platform and came up directly behind the seat.
