This might help a little. The early 140s had a pull rod to start it. In about 1963 or 1964 they went to a key start with a push button. In the mid 1970s they changed that to just a key start. The early 140s were 6 volt. The ones built in 1977 and later came with an altenator. I have 4 140s so if you need help with some thing let me know and i will try to help you. erikdekeyser@hotmail.com
