Yes on the safety wire. Any decent auto parts store will have some. I used .060" dia. stainless steel wire purchased from McMaster Carr for the mains on my '51 H. In a nutshell, the wires leaving the bolt head should be such that the tension on them will prevent counter-clockwise rotation. Then put a few twists between the bolt heads then put one wire through the second bolt head so that (again) any tension in the wire is trying to tighten the bolt. A picture would be worth a thousand words here but I don't have a good one to link to. You might drop "safety wiring" into a search engine for a better idea.
