Yeah, that too simple thing can be tough sometimes. In this instance, I don't think I know Vern from Adam, and what I've learned since, I feel a little silly about going into what wrenches other than a tappet wrench might work if he finds a tight clearance getting onto that spindle. That's one of the dangers, I guess.
On the flip side, you can assume somebody knows something and answer them as if they do, and then find out that either they don't know or, even better (or worse) they assume something about what you said and head off on a wild goose chase. One that comes to mind is a fella with ignition problems. We all made reference, among other things, to his points. He asked where to find them. We told him. He came back to say that he'd looked all around in there and didn't see anything pointy.
Now if we can just resolve that 13/16" or 7/8" issue! Until that's done, I guess the best advice I could offer Vern is to take everything he has for open end 13/16", 7/8" and 15/16" and see how he makes out. I'll be watching.
