Mike, Did you have the flywheel off and did you replace the pressure plate? These can be a source of vibration. Additionally, look for a frayed or faulty vee belt on the fan. Look at the fan for a bent blade. These too, can result in vibration and you can eliminate these as a source by briefly running the engine without the belt. I would also recheck the valve adjustment to assure that all cylinders are having the same compression. With this engine it is essential that each cylinder deliver power.
