Its up to you but if it were me, I would pony up the extra bucks and get new 18.4x38's. 42" rubber isn't going to look right on that tractor, plus you may have issues with clearance to mount fenders. I don't care for 20.8x38's on that tractor either. They don't look quite right and make row cropping on 30" rows a little interesting. Goodyear or Firestone, I can't remember which developed the 18.4x38 tire specifically for the 1206. In prototype testing IH found that 34" tires wouldn't hold the bead because of the power. Its your tractor, but my vote would be for 18.4x38's. Good luck.
