Okay, thanks vet. I'm not sure if I'll get back to it tomorrow or not, but Monday for sure. My first inclination is to just leave it alone. That would be the cowardly way out. I just know though if I don't go ahead and do this I'll regret it. Also, when replacing the bushings on the vertical shafts that run from the gearshift down to the transmission how do you get those shafts out to replace those bushings? It looks like you have to pull the whole steering column and base to get those things out. Is this right? I really don't want to do that! I really appreciate your help. I do have a full set of Blue Ribbon manuals but sometimes advice from someone like yourself who has done it a million times is much more helpful. Thanks vet!
