Besides the turbo the differences between the 966 and 1066 engines include 12 piston cooling jets for the turbocharged engine versus 6 for the NA engine. The turbo used a wider oil pump for more volume. The pistons and rings are different. Cylinder heads have different cooling jets. The NA engine used a four vane water pump and the turboed engine used a pump with eight vanes.
