A pretty simple method of assessing an air leak. (which causes foaming) Using a rubber stopper with a tire inflation (schrader) valve inserted, replace the filler plug in the resrevoir. Use a hand tire pump, or very careful use of a compressor, to put 15 to 20 psi in the reservoir. with this pressure, an air leak on the suction side will clearly be shown. Seals in the pump itself can leak, so if no leak in the piping or external Orings is discovered, pull the pump out of the front cover a small amount to check if it is leaking into the front cover. The pressure should be stable in the system for 15 minutes. If it bleeds down almost immediatly use a spray bottle of dilute dish soap to spray down the exterior searching for bubbling leaks. Good luck, JimN
