There are a couple things here that could be the problem ,(1) the O/Ring between the speed transmisson is old and hard and not sealing well or the last time someone had that tractor split they forgot to replace the O/Ring ,(2) the MCV pump is getting tired and not doing the job anymore . (3) you could have a sicking valve in the MCv or weak springs . So the cheap easy way is to over fill the system and this will take care of any air entering the MCV system and help on fluid pick up. IF this does not solve the problem then it is time to break open the piggy bank an d get a new pump and a seal and gskt pkg. for the MCV and a new spring kit and go thru the MCV . For this ya need to get at least a I T manual and a set of dial calipers and a pressure gauge and fitting to make the correct pressure setting .
