Could have titled this several ways, thought of WTH, bad news, etc., Ain't this hell was My Daddys favorite, least profane expression so I'll go with it.
Some of Yaw'll might remember Me takein' the 3 1/4" sleeves and pistons, all the internals out of the broken 354898 and installin' them in the 251069. I got it runnin' last week, tuned on it, fixed this and that, had it runnin' so good, all kinds of power, hooked up cultivators front and back, set of Hillers, put Her in some ground I'd plowed last fall, This tractor would do what Daddy called gettin' up against the governor, soon as the engine pulled down a little it would hunker down and start pullin', I had put about five hrs. on it, mostly drivein' it around , adjustin', so forth, ran it this mornin', finishin' up wirein' in a new switch, amp meter, went to town to My friends vintage guitar store, needed to get Him to solder a diode in the alt. wirein'( plus He'd got an old Telecaster in I wanted first shot at) Back in the shop, finished wirein' the alt. cranked the engine, heard a squealin', not loud, thought it was the alt. walked around from the starter side to the alt. side, couldn't find where the noise was, killed engine, loosened belts, spun alt. pulley , no noise, tighten everything back up, hit starter button....Engine is locked up tight...so "AIN"T THIS HELL" ...guessin' something happened on the bottom end...NO USE CRYIN' I had some good schoolin' for the past few weeks, had a HELL OF A STRONG ENGINE FOR A FEW DAYS....I'm okay with what ever has happened.
I do know one thing, after havein' an engine that strong I'll never be happy with a 113 cu.in....Kind of like havein a 454 in my 1 ton and goin' down to a 350. I do thank each and every one of YAW'll that helped out, Thank You for sharein' Your knowledge, You are a good bunch of hands....Anybody got a 354898 block I can swap You out of? Guess I'll be truck patchin' this spring with the old "A" with the ARMSTRONG lift

Wild Bill
