Mr. D, If you know for sure that the brakes have not been touched I would recommend you investigate why the left one is locking up and the right one is not catching. Neither of these two conditions are normal and NO, they will not correct themselves. It sounds like there is very little if any shoe left on the band of the left brake causing the rivots to dig into the drum when you brake. The right one could be near the same condition or just be out of adjustment. You will need to pull the final drives and do a complete brake job. If the drum(s)are scored you will need to have them turned. Of course all this is going to hose up your paint job but your safety is at stake here as well as anyone else who drives your tractor.
