All that "clutch" amounts to, is an oversized Needle and Seat valve, located under the left floorboard, which allows the pressure to be bled off when the pedal is depressed.
Not much to the valve itself and I really doubt if there is anything wrong with it other than perhaps it is out of adjustment. Make darned sure the valve is completely "seated" when the pedal is up.
They do "wiggle loose" tho and it might be leaking by.
