For the W-9 and WD-9 ag type tractors some of the early ones in 1940 and early 1941 came out with the old narrow base rims and 13.50-32 rear tires. (I remember seeing a W-9 with those tires "way back when" somewhere). In early 1941 the new wide base rims came on the scene and most "9 types" that I've ever seen since then had 14-34's. The later size is 16.9-34. I've seen some later Super WD-9's with 15-34's and of course the 600's and 650's with the bigger 15-34's or the later size 18.4-34's. Seen a couple 660's with 20.8-34's. Out in the west I've seen some "western 9's" with the 18-26 wide tread/ rear wheels and tires. (23.1-26). I guess they put these wide tires on some of the rice versions too. Off topic a little I guess, but I always wondered why dear old IH never made a bigger styled standard diesel in the early 1940's using the 460 cu. in. diesel engine that they used in the earlier standard WD-40 and the TD-14 TracTractors... They could have called it the WD-14......That would have forced old John Deere to come out with one big "Lumper" to compete with that, heh, heh.
