Jim: That is the way I remember it also - the M has the same size inlet and outlet, whereas the H muffler has the smaller outlet.

I use ONLY mufflers from Mark's Parts. The best sound and quality. If you look at pics on the Wisconsin Hist. site many of the M's and W6's show what looks like a smaller outlet. Not as small as the H or Super H muffler. No one (to my knowledge) makes that muffler. Several muffler manufacturers were used by IH in the 1940's and 1950's. I have been very happy with the one's from Mark's.
