There are two bolts that clamp the release fork to the shaft. They are at a rearward angle and I think they come up from the bottom. They are a little bit awkward to get at. There are two thick spacers that the bolts hold in place. After the bolts and the spacers are removed, the shaft can be slide out the side of the housing. Only slide it out as far as you need it to be to release the fork. That way it sure be easier to reassembly. Steve
