Howdy Sorry for your loss, as I write this, Ruby is pestering me to play, Ruby is a Pekinese, I never had any use for a pint sized dog untill she came along. We got her 2 years ago and shortly after I lost the sight in my right eye, I was very depressed, but Ruby never left my side, and would not let me feel sorry for myself. For 6 months I went in for a series of injections into my eyeball (ouch) and regained my sight in that eye. Last year I had a heart attack, long recovery, Ruby was with me 24 hours a day, I'm on my feet again and Ruby takes me for a walk every day. Over the winter Ruby slipped a disc in her back and couldn't use her hind legs for almost 2 months, within the past couple of weeks she is back to her old self and I have my walking partner back. Ruby cost $100.00 when we got her (I dont know how much in vet bills, but what the heck), my wife says " I'll bet you wouldn't take a $1000.00 for her now." Thats wrong because she is not for sale at ANY price, I love that little dog, you can not buy devotion like that at any price. Sorry for going on like this but I know how you must feel about your loss and your sons grief. Bob S.
