I think the binding was in the outside bearing originally. Then the mushroomed shaft stopped the shaft from moving further. I started working on the transmission last night also. Do you have any experience with the transmission top cover and the shift lever? My 100 has a lot of play in the shift lever and is pretty loose. Can the excess slop be taken out by working on the underside of the cover? Is there any adjustment? It looks like the detent balls will come flying out and roll under a bench when being taken apart. I getting a parts manual, but don't have one yet. Thanks.
