Not shown in the view are pump shims. Most pumps will have several shims of varying thickness although they may be so thin you think there is only one. Do not remove shims without measuring pump gear end play. If you go to messing with clearances get an I&T manual so you know what it should be.
If your pump seems to be OK I would leave it alone. I usually go to 15w50 oil in belly pumps as it is not nearly so thin when hot but is still plenty thin when cold. I run a Vermeer round baler (504 Super G) on a Lift All in an M with 15w50 and have not had any problems in eight or ten seasons.
