Well there are a lot of things that need to be addressed when rebuilding a diesel and EVERYTHING must be 100% correct or it will not run 100% . As to the fuel bleeding off over night well there maybe and air leak But if all fittings are tight and ya don't see any wet spots then i would say that it is good But they can sometime suck some air. But my take on this is that ya may not have a pre cup in just wright or it had a crack or the valves maybe set to deep in the seats and believe this or not that can cause a slight low compression and this will cause a cold miss and a little hard starting . I see this problem all the time with home brew rebuild and heads being done at a so so machine shop that just wants to get the job out the door . Valve protrusion or ression on a diesel head is vary important . Like on a D361 -407 it can make a hard started out of one real fast after a so so valve job .People don't do quality work anymore just rush it thru and get the money don't check the book don't check the spec's just do it. I guess i am to fussy on my work.

If i said that this was a little frustrating for him that would be "conservative" in fact the problem had reduce
