Hi Eve, make sure draft control lever is fully forward. There are two valves at the front of the seat, left one is push & turn, this one controls flow rate of hydraulic oil to 3pt. In is 3 GPM, out is 6 GPM. The left valve controls the direction of hydraulic oil flow and is controlled by 3pt lever, open hydraulic oil goes to 3pt, closed hydraulic oil goes to remote outlet, large plug at front of seat. There is another plug at front of seat and it has a filter behind it. There is also a filter on the suction line at the outlet of hydraulic reservoir.

Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
