Hey all. I'm trying to work out what I think is a fuel issue on two separate machines. They're not running gas from the same station, and I've not had any issues with my other equipment running on gas out of these cans.
The machines (IH 424 and IH 154 loboy) will start and idle well. They'll run well for 10-15 minutes, then begin to surge and die under a load. They run a bit better with the choke pulled out once they start surging, but not much.
Where to start with them? The 424 was run without an air filter by the previous owner, so I think the carb may have a lot of junk in it. The 154, however, has a brand new carb installed just before I bought it, and has a proper and functional air intake system. Both have a good strong spark, even after they begin surging and dying.
I'm planning to rebuild the carb on the 424, any other ideas?
