We use what our parts dealer calls "swather guards" on our mowers. No ledger plates on them, and they seem to last for at least two or three years... I would say we run the mowers about 40 to 60 hours per year depending on how many miles of road ditches and waterways we cut. I know that I sure enjoy NOT changing ledger plates!
